The Southern Police District has filed criminal complaints against the suspect behind the killing of two protection agents in a posh subdivision in Makati City.

In a statement on Thursday, SPD Director Col. Kirby John Kraft said the suspect identified as Julius Cortez, 43, is facing two counts of murder and theft before the Makati City Prosecutor's Office after he was arrested last Tuesday along the Lubang Gate of Dasmariñas Village Makati.

According to the report, around 9:50 p.m. Monday, an alleged shooting incident transpired along South Forbes Park Village, Makati City. Investigators from Makati City Police immediately proceeded to the said place and conducted investigation.

Upon inquiry, one Realty Developer and a family friend of the owner of the residence, averred that they received a call from one of the helpers informing them that a shooting incident transpired inside their residence resulting in the death of two Protection Agents inflicted by their driver security.

Further inquiry from witness alias Ben, the suspect was drunk and asking for his viand, when he later heard successive gunshots. He then found the victims identified as Jay Ar Tomenio and Eugene Sitjar both were Protection Agents, dead on the spot.

During the conduct of an investigation, it was gathered that the firearm owned by the victims was missing and could have been taken by the suspect.

Instantly, joint forces of Ayala Sub-Station personnel and elements of SWAT, Makati CPS conducted a manhunt operation that resulted in the arrest of Cortez with the help of a duty gate guard identified as SG Demy Cabas-an who tipped off the whereabouts of the suspect.
