The biggest romantic drama movie of 1992 is coming back to the big screen.

In celebration of its 30th anniversary, The Bodyguard, starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner, returns to cinemas worldwide from 6 to 9 November.

Tickets are available on TheBodyguard30.com starting 28 September, 10 a.m. E.T.

In the film, which marked her debut as an actor, Houston plays Rachel Marron, a pop superstar who is stalked by an unknown killer.

Her manager hires former Secret Service agent Frank Farmer (Costner) to protect her. Singer and bodyguard develop a special relationship and fall in love.

The movie’s success was buoyed further when The Bodyguard: Official Soundtrack Album went on to become the best-selling soundtrack of all time — tied with the 13th biggest-selling disc in US history, selling over 18 million units, according to the Recording Industry Association of America.

‘THE Bodyguard’ celebrates its 30th anniversary.

Featuring the monster hits “I Will Always Love You,” “I Have Nothing,” and “Run to You,” it won the 1992 Grammy for Album of the Year.

Legacy Recordings (in cooperation with The Estate of Whitney E. Houston) will release a vinyl version of the album on 18 November.

“The Bodyguard’s story and songs are indelibly etched in the hearts of movie and music fans around the globe. We are pleased to partner with Warner Bros. to bring this anniversary celebration to fans,” said Kymberli Frueh, SVP of programming and content acquisitions for Trafalgar Releasing.

The announcement of The Bodyguard’s 30th anniversary followed the release of the official trailer of Houston’s biopic, I Wanna Dance with Somebody.

The Sony Pictures production hits theaters on 21 December.
