It's "A Moment Like this" for Kelly Clarkson as she unveiled her very own Hollywood Walk of Fame star after 20 years in the industry.
The 40-year-old singer was supposed to receive her star last year, but with the pandemic, awarding was moved on 19 September.
Clarkson is the 2,733rd person to be part of Walk of Fame located between the stars of Daniel Radcliffe and Ryan Reynolds at 6801 Hollywood Blvd.
"I feel very lucky and fortunate because I know a lot of talented people that love singing and are amazing at it and writing songs, and even talk show hosts — a lot of people could do that, and I just feel very fortunate that I get the chance. There are dreams you didn't know you had and they end up happening and you feel super blessed," Clarkson said.
She also thanked the people who supported her, from friends to family, and shared that her support system didn't only praise her but also gave her honest opinions throughout her career.
"I think it's important to have not just 'yes' people, but people that actually love you, and care about you and give their honest advice, and I've always welcomed that," Clarkson said.
"And I think that is why I'm here today."
The singer-songwriter rose to fame when she won the pioneer season of the singing competition, American Idol.
As she commemorated her historic moment, it also became a mini reunion for the original trio judges of American Idol: Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, and Paula Abdul.
Cowell reminisced on Clarkson's performance on the show, "We were just talking about the moment when you sang 'Respect,' and we all looked at each other, and it was like, 'Oh. My. God. Thank you.'"
He also praised Clarkson for giving her best stages for American Idol, "I remember that moment when your name was called and I was honestly thinking to myself, 'Thanks to you, we may have another season.' I can honestly say to you, 'Thanks to you, I'm here today.'"
After being crowned as the winner of competition, she debuted in 2002 with her single "A Moment Like This," which topped the Billboard Hot 100. She also received two Grammy Awards with her song "Breakaway" that sold over 12 million copies worldwide.
