Pheww gains trust, respect

Bren Esports team captain Angelo Kyle "Pheww" Arcangel basks in the respect and admiration of his colleagues, especially from the organization's team manager Adi Padilla.

Padilla branded Pheww as a "superstar," saying that he remains as one of the best players in the Mobile Legends Professional League Philippines.

The 23-year-old mid lane support from Mandaluyong has been a staple in the MPL after campaigning since Season 1 with two titles under his belt.

"Pheww is a superstar at how he handles himself," Padilla said.

"A lot of people and fans always say that he should retire, but the truth is, Pheww, even when off cam at the boot camp, headquarters, and in person, he is super responsible and disciplined."

Padilla added that Pheww sets a good example for his younger teammates.

"I told myself that he is really a team captain material," Padilla added.

"For example, if a training call time is 3 p.m., he would be there an hour before. He has been like that since I joined Bren Esports. I think those who handled Pheww before, know that he is like that."

Pheww has been with Bren Esports since Season 5 and was instrumental in leading the team to its MPL championship in Season 6.

Much more, Pheww also captained the squad when it won the M2 Mobile Legends world championship in 2021 that saw them pocket roughly P8 million.

Bren Esports' time at the top of the mountain, however, ended quite early.

They finished at No. 4 in Season 7 before turning in a top 7 to 8 finishes in Seasons 8 and 9, sparking an avalanche of criticisms from the Mobile Legends community that Pheww is no longer the same player he used to be.
