ONIC PH has secured a slot in the Playoffs following a sweep over defending MPL champion RSG PH on Week 6 Day 3 of MPL Season 10 this Sunday evening.
After scoring a win in the first stanza, ONIC drafted a double tank lineup in Game 2 with Faramis, Atlas, Irithel, Baxia, and Thamuz while RSG countered with Paquito, Claude, Valentina, Esmeralda, and Lolita.
The contest looked close in the early game but it was ONIC's more team fight savvy lineup that got the better of RSG PH as the fight went on. After wiping out their foes on the top lane and with the lord on their side, ONIC went for a GG push just 10 minutes into the game to win the series.
"The match was important because this was our second meeting. We expected RSG to get even, we did not think that we would win by 2-0," said ONIC team captain Rapidoot.
The win catapulted ONIC PH to the top of the regular season ladder as they moved their standing to 7-4 with 21 points on their way to the Playoffs while RSG fell to no.4 with 6-4 and 17 points.
Match 2 of the final match this weekend took place between Omega Esports and TNC where the former emerged victorious by 2-1. They currently sit at no.5 in the ladder while TNC remains at the bottom with a 1-10 standing.
