Eraserheads gig this December in Parañaque, says source

On 17 September, Buendia and fellow EHeads members Buddy Zabala, Raimund Marasigan and Marcus Adoro simultaneously posted similar graphic image of the classic Eheads first-letter logo 'Ǝ,' on their social media pages — triggering talk of a new reunion concert

Ely Buendia's half-serious joke is, well, damn serious.

To recall, in December 2021, the rock star said his former band, The Eraserheads, might have a reunion "pag tumakbo si Leni" — referring to the clamor for then Vice President Leni Robredo to run for president in the May 2022 elections.

However, Buendia quipped it was just a "half-serious" joke after Robredo went on to announce her presidential run — which the musician supported by performing at her campaigns.

On 17 September, Buendia and fellow EHeads members Buddy Zabala, Raimund Marasigan and Marcus Adoro simultaneously posted similar graphic image of the classic Eheads first-letter logo "Ǝ," on their social media pages — triggering talk of a new reunion concert.

Zabala wrote on Instagram, "Let me hear you sing it" — a reference to the band's song "With A Smile," while Adoro scribbled, "Et me er u eng et," seemingly a word play on the same line.

The word from a source, who requested anonymity due to lack of authority to speak on the matter, is the concert will be held "a few days before Christmas," and "somewhere in Parañaque."

There have been two major Eheads reunion concerts — the first, held in BGC in 2008, was stopped halfway cause Buendia had to be rushed to a hospital, where doctors diagnosed he had suffered a mild heart attack.

He recovered and the band went on to perform again in 2009. Held at the Mall of Asia open grounds, the concert reportedly drew 100,000 people.

The band would go on and play gigs abroad including the US and England.
