At least six minors tagged in the fatal stabbing of a 14-year-old boy Thursday had been identified and brought before police probers and social welfare officers.

Elements of the Quezon City Police District Galas Station accosted the youth after their alleged involvement in the killing in Barangay Doña Imelda, Quezon City was confirmed by witnesses and closed-circuit TV footage.

The fatal stabbing happened at about 6:30 p.m. last 15 September. According to witnesses, the victim was with friends walking in front of a supermarket when the young suspects arrived armed with knives.

The youth then stabbed the victim who was rushed to Delos Santos Medical Center where he was declared dead on arrival by doctors.

Galas police chief P/Lt. Col. Richard Ian said they first reviewed the CCTV footage of the incident to identify the suspects leading to their being taken into custody. Witnesses also came forward to tell all, he added.

The minors were turned over to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit and the City Social Welfare and Development for their proper disposition as children in conflict with the law or CICLs.

Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte applauded the QCPD for its immediate response which resulted in the apprehension of the CICLs.
