ECHO backdoors their way past Bren, RSG overcomes TNC scare

ECHO pulled off a massive backdoor strategy to snap Bren Esports’ winning streak on Week 6 Day 1 of MPL Season 10 this Friday evening.

After scoring the opening salvo, ECHO went charging to Game 2 with a Fanny, Beatrix, Chou, Uranus, and Yve lineup while Bren Esports played Masha, Grock, Paquito, Kadita, and Moskov.

The teams were neck to neck throughout the stanza with Bren Esports slightly ahead on kills, gold, and turrets destroyed.

Bren then went to capture lord at the 24th minute of the game, not noticing that YAWI, Bennyqt, and KarlTzy went straight to their base without creeps to end the series.

With two damage heroes in Fanny and Beatrix swinging, ECHO was able to break the Bren Esports base before the latter made it back to their side of the map on time.

“In scrimms, we have been practicing going straight to base depending on our heroes,” ECHO team captain YAWI said after the match.

“Our heroes were capable so I said, let’s try a backdoor. I told them it was backdoorable and they were G so we were able to pull it off.”

Earlier in the day, defending MPL PH champion RSG PH relied on star jungler Demonkite to muster a reverse sweep over TNC.

The come-from-behind victory moved RSG’s standing to 6-3 with 17 points, putting them at the no.2 spot next to Blacklist International.
