BARMM lends hand to Lanao del Sur indigents

COTABATO CITY — The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao — through its Ministry of Social Services and Development —recently provided financial assistance to at least 1,447 indigent residents of Lanao del Sur.

MSSD Minister, Atty. Raissa Jajurie, said the distribution of the financial aid formed part of the various social protection programs of their agency to the needy constituents of the region.

She added that indigents have availed of government packages under the Sustainable Livelihood Program, Kupkop Program, and the Angat Bangsamoro: Kabataan Tungo sa Karunungan Program.

Under the SLP, she said 956 small business owners received P15,000 financial assistance each to improve their ventures while 183 orphans have received P5,000 each under the Kupkop program.

For the ABaKa program, 62 college students received P10,000 each while 163 high school students got P3,000 each and P2,000 each to 84 elementary pupils.

Jajurie said the beneficiaries, chosen after review and validation of their qualifications, were from the municipalities of Bacolod, Madalum, Madamba, Ganassi, Pualas, Pagayawan, Calanogas, Picong, Binidayan, Bayang, Tubaran, Lumbaca Unayan, Lumbayanague, Butig and Sultan Domalondong.
