Public educators get huge boost

September 9, 2022

The Department of Education said Thursday public school teachers will each receive a P1,000 incentive as part of the commemoration of National Teachers’ Day on 5 October.

DepEd spokesperson Michael Poa said the agency will continue to give the incentive to qualified public school teachers as tribute to their sacrifices.

Last year, around 900 qualified public school teachers were given P1,000 incentive during the annual National Teachers’ Day celebration.

On 6 September, Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Z. Duterte led this year’s National Teachers’ Month kick-off in Davao del Norte in celebration of the significant role of teachers in educating the Filipino learners.

The month-long celebration with the theme “Gurong Pilipino, Dangal ng Sambayanang Pilipino” aims to give respect and admiration to the never-ending dedication of teachers in guiding their students, parents, and caregiver in the transition to home-based learning due to the pandemic.
