Concerts for challenging times

KDR Music House is an events company that has lately been producing concerts featuring top Filipino artists.

KDR Music House is affiliated with Wish 107.5 FM station.

Wish is currently one of the most popular radio stations in Metro Manila. It boasts of the Wish Bus, a mobile studio where solo artists and bands perform live.

KDR has produced two Wish Date concerts this year. The first one was a well-attended free show at New Frontier Theater in Quezon City. The second drew a full-house audience at The Theater at Solaire.

On 11 September, KDR presents a major concert at Smart Araneta Coliseum featuring Rico Blanco. KDR must be confident Blanco can fill up the Big Dome.

Even as GenZ fans associate Blanco with his girlfriend, young actor-singer Maris Racal, she is not among his guest performers.

Instead, Blanco will perform with Ebe Dancel and Zild, both of whom he manages under his company Balcony Entertainment.

Another guest is Peniel, a young singer-songwriter who won in a Wish radio contest and was one of the performers at the KDR concert at Solaire.

No matter how Blanco's Big Dome show turns out, KDR has likewise booked the venue on 23 October for another concert, this time featuring The Juans.

It's possible that KDR has lined up more shows till the yearend, though it has not revealed what it has in store in November and December, particularly in the Christmas season.

The company will likely make announcements after The Juans concert.

As the country feels the crunch of inflation and other challenges, hopefully there are still Filipinos who can afford to go out and watch concerts.

KDR seems determined to do good and survive even the worst of times.
