3 minors dead in QC fire

Three minors died in a three-hour fire Thursday after being trapped inside their room in Barangay Obrero, Quezon City.

Senior Fire Officer 3 Rolando Valena of the Quezon Fire District, the investigator, said two of the victims were siblings aged seven and five.

They perished with their 11-year-old cousin on the third floor of their house when the fire broke out as the children were asleep.

Arson investigators said the victims were sleeping with their grandmother when the incident happened.

The grandmother was given immediate medical attention after she tried to save her grandchildren and fell from the third floor to the ground floor of their house.

The Bureau of Fire Protection reported that they found the remains of the third child a few minutes after 5 a.m.

The QCFD said the fire was raised to first alarm at around 12:02 a.m. and was declared under control at around 1:08 a.m. It twas extinguished at around 3:12 a.m.
