Thirteen informants received cash rewards amounting to more than P3 million from the Philippine National Police.
Deputy Chief for Administration P/Lt. Gen. Jose Chiquito Malayo handed over the P3,310,000 cash rewards to the claimants during a ceremony in Camp Crame on Monday.
The 13 provided vital information that led to the arrest of 14 fugitives from justice listed as Most Wanted Persons, Malayo said.
The police official said the crimes committed by those arrested were heinous and sensational, including double murder, rape, abduction with rape, and multiple frustrated and attempted murder.
Meanwhile, 11 civilian informants of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency also received cash rewards in the total amount of P9,684,257 Tuesday at its headquarters in Quezon City.
The 11 tipsters provided information that led to the successful conduct of anti-drug operations and the seizure of large volumes of narcotics.
One informant received the lion's share by pocketing P8 million for information that led to four successful big-time drug busts.
