About 50 houses burned to the ground leaving at least 100 families homeless in Barangay Baesa, Quezon City on Monday.

The blaze at the residential area on Pajo Street started past 11 a.m. and was declared out minutes before 1 p.m., the Bureau of Fire Protection's National Capital Region office reported.

BFP-NCR did not report casualties from the fire that caused damage to properties worth P500,000 as the houses that burned were made of light materials.

Arson probers are looking into faulty electrical wiring in one of the bedrooms of a house as cause of the blaze.
