President Bongbong Marcos' state visits to Indonesia and Singapore from 4 to 7 September will promote "strong alliances and partnerships" in a post-pandemic order.

He arrives in Indonesia on 4 September and will stay there till the 6th, on the invitation of Indonesian President Joko Widodo.

Marcos said the Philippines and Indonesia are set to sign agreements on defense and security, creative economy, and cultural matters.

He will also invite investors in Philippine agriculture and energy.

Foreign Sec. Enrique Manalo earlier said Marcos will "most likely" bring up with Widodo the case of Mary Jane Veloso — the Filipino on death row in Indonesia for drug trafficking charges.

She was to be executed by firing squad in 2015, but Widodo held off after a last-minute appeal from then President Noynoy Aquino.

Marcos will proceed to Singapore on 6 September and stay till the 7th on the invitation of President Halimah Yakob.

Singapore is home to 200,000 Filipinos.

First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, Ilocos Norte 1st District Rep. Sandro Marcos, and House Speaker Martin Romualdez joined the President in the trips.
