PNP arrests 8 Chinese nationals

Philippine National Police Chief, Police, Gen Rodolfo Azurin Jr., on Thursday, said eight Chinese nationals reportedly engaged in the illegal selling of loose firearms and kidnapping were arrested on Wednesday evening in Pasay City.

In a statement, Azurin said operatives from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group conducted an entrapment and buy-bust operation at around 10:30 p.m. at Unit E and F, Storey Townhouse, 250 F. Sanchez Street, corner P. Villanueva Street, Pasay City which resulted in the arrest of five Chinese nationals.

Azurin said during the police operation, three Chinese nationals tried to prevent the arrest of their friends by blocking their car on the driveway of the said townhouse, went to their unit and locked their door.

Recovered from their town house unit were: a Colt Defense 5.56mm M4 Carbine mounted with sniper scope and silencer; one Glock 19 9mm pistol; a cal.45 pistol, various magazine assemblies, several live rounds of assorted ammunition, Taser; handcuffs; laptops, mobile phones, assorted ID cards; blank cards and assorted Chinese ATM cards.
