CHR to probe Cavite school ‘scandal’

The Commission on Human Rights (CHR) will independently probe alleged sexual exploitation and abuse in a school in Cavite in conjunction with the DepEd's.

CHR spokesperson Jacqueline de Guia said that they have already sent personnel who are currently conducting an investigation from the Calabarzon Regional Office.

It was learned that there are 30 alleged victims of the said exploitation, which involving six teachers of Bacoor High School, who are also scheduled to undergo an interview between the personnel from the regional office.

"These are condemnable incidents that betray the trust children and parents place on schools as safe havens for learning. It is thus concerning how individuals tasked with educating young children have been allegedly involved in actions that are unbecoming of the role of educators," according to De Guia.
