Presidential Adviser for Entrepreneurship Joey Concepcion plans to form an advisory group consisting of multidisciplinary experts to guide to the private sector on matters of public health and the economy.
President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Concepcion earlier met, that was when the incoming President indicated his support to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) which are considered the backbone of the economy.
Asked if there’s a chance that he will be reinstated as presidential adviser, Concepcion said he will continue his advocacies even if he will not have any position under the Marcos regime.
“I don’t know but even if not, we (would) continue as even with PA (presidential adviser) title. I don’t get any support from the government at all. We fund everything ourselves, my office. I handle the cost through our foundation. I basically protect the interest of the private sector which includes the MSME,” he told the Daily Tribune.
Top-level group
In a statement, Concepcion said the group will be composed of the country’s most esteemed experts on medicine, public health, economics, and research and data analytics, who can provide advice to the private sector on possible pathways to help the country transition safely and successfully into normalcy after two years of battling the Covid-19 pandemic.
“We’ve seen over the past two years how important it is to have experts from all fields guiding us through the pandemic. Experts have credibility with our citizens, and they give advice based on science and data,” according to Concepcion.
