A passenger ship caught fire in Real, Quezon at past 6 a.m. on Monday, 23 May 2022, according to the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).
According to the PCG, Mercraft 2 left Polilio Island at 5 a.m. and bound for Real, Quezon. At least 124 passengers were on board the ship.
Based on the initial report, the ship caught fire at approximately 1,000 yards from the Port of Real, Quezon.
Rescue operation is ongoing.
