“We must reset, recoup and rebound.” Thus said Senator Christopher “Bong” Go Sunday as he admitted that the country has taken a significant backward step in the past couple of years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Go pointed out that the new administration in the country will come in on 30 June as nations across the globe grapple still with the virus first discovered in Wuhan, China in 2019.

“It is clear that we need to further invest in the public health sector since the ongoing crisis has exposed persistent weaknesses in our country’s healthcare system,” the chair of the Senate Health Committee said.

The senator said that notwithstanding significant progress made against the pandemic, there is no time to relax “while ensuring no Filipino is left behind.”

While the last elections may have been polarizing, Go said all Filipinos must work together for the development of the country.

“In my own capacity, rest certain that I will continue to support and advocate for more initiatives that benefit underprivileged Filipinos, particularly those that can strengthen and expand the healthcare system,” he said.
