Seven members of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) surrendered to authorities in North Cotabato over the weekend.
Mamao Abdurahman, Barager Amella Akmad, Norolam Zacaria Akmad, Sandoto Mamental Guialil, Abdul Hamid Malawi, Emran Kugang Alimama, and Jehad Samad turned themselves in before the Philippine Army’s 90th Infantry Battalion based in Pikit, North Cotabato.
They also turned in three rifles and one M203 grenade launcher, with corresponding ammunition.
The surrenderers were subsequently presented to Mayor Sumulong Sultan of Pikit, North Cotabato, and Colonel Jovencio Gonzales, commander of the 602nd Infantry Brigade.
The seven were placed under the custody of the 90th Infantry Battalion for debriefing and for proper disposition.
