A garbage collector segregating trash recovered from a Malabon City canal got the shock of his life over the weekend when he opened an eco bag and found a fetus inside.
P/Ssg. Maria Theresa Dagman of the Malabon Police said the eco bag was fished by the garbage personnel as it floated along a canal in Tuyuan Street, Barangay Tinajeros.
The discovery of the fetus was reported to Metropolitan Manila Development Authority pumping station operator Albert Dela Cruz who, in turn, contacted the Malabon Police
Sub-station 2.
A barangay kagawad, Mario Rances Jr., said the fetus may have been dumped in Valenzuela City before strong currents brought it to Malabon.
The police are investigating even as the fetus was given a proper burial in the barangay.
