Mikey Williams connected on crucial treys to create enough separation for the TNT Tropang Giga on their way to a 96-81 demolition of San Miguel Beer in the PBA Governors’ Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday.
The rookie exploded for 30 points and highlighted his night with three consecutive triples at crunch time as the Tropang Giga arrested a two-game skid for a 3-4 win-loss record.
He dished out four assists and grabbed two rebounds in almost 41 minutes of action. Import Aaron Fuller finished with a double-double of 22 points and 26 rebounds for TNT.
The Beermen, meanwhile, absorbed their third defeat in six games.
Junemar Fajardo led SMB’s scoring with 22 points and 14 rebounds, while Terrence Romeo had 18 markers and four boards.
San Miguel import Orlando Johnson had a forgettable performance as he was limited to only 12 points on a paltry 3-of-22 shooting from the field.
