Blacklist International and RSG secured spots in the upper bracket semifinals of the SIBOL National Team Selection tryouts on Friday.
The defending back-to-back MPL titlist and reigning M3 Mobile Legends world champion Blacklist International took advantage of fan-favorite Nexplay EVOS playing sans one of its stars to set the pace early in the opening match of Day 2 on its way to an easy 3-0 sweep.
Blacklist exploited every bit of Nexplay missing its ace H2wo, who was rushed to the hospital before the match for an undisclosed reason.
RSG PH and ONIC PH, meanwhile, had fireworks written all over their series when ONIC scored the opening salvo in Game 1.
But RSH was quick to adjust and pick up the pace, defeating the M3 world championship second placer in the next three games to steal the series, 3-1.
Bren Esports, on the other hand, scored a 2-1 win over a game El Ganador Esports while Omega Esports had a comfortable 2-0 sweep against Origen Esports in the lower bracket.
ONIC and Bren will face each other on Day 3 in the lower bracket quarterfinals while Nexplay EVOS takes on Omega Esports.
