China has sent part of a P1 billion worth of donated equipment to the Armed Forces, the Department of National Defense announced Friday.
The first batch of donations, worth CNY 76 million (about P615 million), arrived in Manila last January 16, defense department spokesman Arsenio Andolong said.
That comprises various hardware like rescue and relief equipment, drone systems, detectors, water purification vehicles, ambulances, firetrucks, x-ray machines, explosives and ordnance disposal robots, bomb disposal suits, transport vehicles, backhoes, dumptrucks, forklifts, and earthmovers.
Those will be formally turned over to the DND and AFP next month, Andolong said.
A second batch worth CNY 54 million (P436 million) will be delivered on a later date, he added.
