Authorities seized and destroyed some P90 million worth of marijuana during a two-day operation in Tinglayan, Kalinga, police reported Thursday.
The stash was seized during raids on six plantation sites in Brgys. Loccong and Butbut Proper on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to a report from the Cordillera regional police.
Police and members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency eradicated 280,000 pieces of fully-grown marijuana worth P56 million and recovered 150 kilos, or worth P18 million, of dried marijuana leaves in Loccong, the report said.
In Butbut Proper, they eradicated 80,000 more fully-grown marijuana worth P16 million, it said.
All seized plants were uprooted and destroyed on-site. Investigation is ongoing to identify the possible cultivators, police said.
