Cop nabbed for minor’s ‘rape’

A Quezon City (QC) policeman assigned at the Kamuning police station 10 was arrested for allegedly raping a minor food server in an eatery he frequented.

QC Police District chief Brig. Gen. Antonio Yarra identified the suspect as P/CMS Galahad Altarejos, 48, presently detailed at the QCPD crime lab.

Altarejos will be charged with rape and violation of Republic Act 7610, otherwise known as the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.

According to the victim’s aunt, she found the victim half-naked while the cop hid in the closet of the room where the alleged assault happened.

The victim said that the suspect dragged her from their living room, adjacent to the eatery, and into her room where the rape allegedly happened.

In Navotas City, a 29-year-old man, identified by the police as Edmar Santilices, was also arrested after a 15-year-old girl complained that he raped her.

The girl was engaged in a drinking session with the suspect at the latter’s house where the alleged molestation took place.

Meanwhile, a man was shot dead outside his house in Barangay 164, in Malibay, Pasay City as he was smoking a cigarette. The victim was identified as John Paul Camacho, 20.
