A live-selling “plantita” caught on camera a robber as he tried to divest her at gunpoint of her money and smartphone. While she was able to throw a potted plant at the robber, he escaped, nonetheless.
The robbery, according to the Caloocan City police, victimized a plant seller along 8th Avenue in Barangay 59.
Cops said they are reviewing closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera footage of the gunman as he escaped aboard a motorcycle, as well as a recording of the live-streamed robbery.
The victim was talking online with her viewer-customers when the suspect arrived, described to be about five-foot-tall, thin and wearing a white shirt, black jacket, denim pants and black full-faced helmet.
The robber poked the seller at her back and when she faced him, he drew a gun and pointed it at her.
The victim shouted for help until the robber pushed her and grabbed the smartphone worth P25,000 which she was using for her online selling.
“Stay there!” the robber commanded the victim, but the latter followed him to where he parked his motorcycle and threw a pot at him.
The robber fled the scene, seemingly disoriented as seen from the CCTV footage, probably from the pot getting planted at the side of his head.
