A total 330 new Covid-19 cases were confirmed in Pasay City Thursday, bringing its total active cases to 26,077, the City Health Office reported on Friday.
The number of fatalities from the virus in the city remained at 599 as no new deaths were logged. Total recoveries stood at 22,052 with 124 patients getting well.
Mayor Emi Calixto Rubiano earlier house-to-house symptoms checking in the city’s 201 barangays amid the rising number of Covid-19 cases.
The city also intensified its contact tracing in a bid to stop the spread of the virus in the city, even if the Department of Health has proposed not giving contact tracing priority with the cases already surging.
On 12 January, 509 new cases were recorded in the city.
Pasay has placed 119 barangays with 1,144 houses under local enhanced community quarantine on 11 January.
The city has recorded 10 children aged 11 months old who have contracted the virus; 153 for aged 1 to 12 years old, and 67 for aged 13 to 17 years old.
