Catarman residents receive timely assistance

The office of Senator Christopher Lawrence ‘Bong’ Go recently provided aid to residents in Catarman, Northern Samar as the senator also called on essential workers to continue observing the public health measures against Covid-19 for their protection.

Go’s staff distributed snacks and masks to a total of 500 market vendors and pedicab drivers while observing the necessary health and safety protocols. They also gave select individuals new pairs of shoes or bicycles for work-related activities and computer tablets for their children’s blended learning exercises.

Personnel from the Department of Social Welfare and Development distributed financial assistance as part of an ongoing effort to cushion the impact of the pandemic on vulnerable sectors.

The Department of Trade and Industry and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority also conducted assessments for their respective assistance programs.

The lawmaker also reminded all eligible workers who have yet to receive their shots to get vaccinated, noting that the majority of the country’s severe Covid-19 cases are unvaccinated.

To help protect the most vulnerable, the senator also offered medical assistance to elderly workers and those with comorbidities. He reminded them to avail of the services of the Malasakit Center located at the Northern Samar Provincial Hospital in Catarman.
