Interior and Local Government Secretary Eduardo Año advised people, especially those in Metro Manila and areas under heightened Covid alert levels, to bring their vaccination cards at all times.
This is so they can show it to barangay officials and police officers as proof of vaccination when requested, Año said.
Año maintained President Duterte’s directive that under heightened Covid alert levels, authorities will still remind unvaccinated people to stay at home, with arrests to be made only as a “last resort.”
“We will request them to stay at home. Barangay officials may only arrest the unvaccinated individual who refuse to cooperate and who are leaving the homes for non-essential purposes,” he said.
