Phl swimming team breaks 3 national records

The Philippine swimming team broke three national records in Day 1 of the 2021 FINA World Swimming Championships 25m Abu Dhabi (25m) United Arab Emirates late Thursday (Manila time).
Chloe Istela clocked in one minute and 0.42 seconds in the women’s 100-meter backstroke, breaking the 13-year old record set by former 2008 Beijing Olympian Joan Christel Simms, who tallied 1:02.33 minutes to finish 29th.
Jerard Jacinto reset the national and his personal best of 54.93 seconds when he finished the men’s 100-m backstroke at 53.69 seconds and finished 35th place.
His split time in the event also created history as his split time of 25.3 seconds became the newen’s 50-m backstroke record.
Jonathan cooked tallied 1:00.79 minutes for 36th place in the men’s 100-m breastroke as he was .11 seconds closer from creating a new record.
