Rain or Shine import Henry Walker drives past Jaylen Bond of Blackwater in their 2021 PBA Governors' Cup match Thursday night at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Rain or Shine banked on a strong second half to take down Blackwater, 92-79, on Thursday in the 2021 PBA Governors’ Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

A huge 31-12 third quarter surge gave the Elasto Painters a comfortable separation on their way to handing the retooled Bossing squad its 20th consecutive defeat — the worst losing streak in the league.

Returning import Henry Walker finished with game-high 20 points, eight rebounds and three assists, while Rey Nambatac and Javee Mocon delivered with 16 points each.

Veteran Gabe Norwood added 11 points and three steals, while Beau Belga had 10 points and eight rebounds for RoS.

Blackwater looked poised to arrest its losing skid taking a 10-point lead at the end of the opening period and protecting a 41-35 advantage at the break.

But the Bossing, whose woes began in an 82-120 defeat at the hands of Alaska in the Philippine Cup back in Oct. 20, 2020, lost steam in the third quarter.

Rashawn McCarthy, meanwhile, debuted with team-high 15 points and nine rebounds, while holdover Baser Amer and newly-acquired big man Barkley Eboña churned out 14 markers apiece.

Blackwater import Jaylen Bond had a quiet double-double debut of 13 points and 11 rebounds.
