McDaniels leads way as NLEX pounds SMB

Returning import KJ McDaniels posted a double-double as he led NLEX to a 114-102 victory over San Miguel Beer in the PBA Governors’ Cup opening day Wednesday night at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
McDaniels filled the stats sheet with 27 points, 11 rebounds and six assists for the Road Warriors, who relied on their well-balanced and high-scoring second half to submit the retooled Beermen and spoil the 36-point explosion of SMB reinforcement Bradon Brown.
Kevin Alas and Don Trollano posted 12 markers apiece, while Philip Paniamogan churned out 11 points and two rebounds for NLEX.
Jericho Cruz added 10 points, five assists and two steals and JR Quinahan with 10 markers and six boards for the Road Warriors.
The Beermen, who saw the debut of newly-acquired Vic Manuel and Simon Enciso, had a horrendous 14 percent three-point shooting throughout the game.
June Mar Fajardo finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Manuel got 17 points and seven rebounds.
