Unvaccinated police officers will be reassigned to perform other tasks to reduce their risk of getting infected with coronavirus, the country’s top cop said on Monday.

“We will find a way where they will still be delivering their services but we will not allow them to be exposed. If they are unvaccinated, it would be a bit dangerous if we put them at quarantine control points. So, we will put them in a place where they can take an administrative role so they can still do the job for us,” Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, Gen. Dionardo Carlos said in a press briefing in Camp Crame.

Carlos said they cannot allow unvaccinated personnel to be excused from work as this would put the government at a disadvantage.

“It is unfair for the government and the people because it is their choice not to be vaccinated and yet they are not delivering services. We have a lot of tasks that they can do that will not expose them to danger because they are unvaccinated,” he added.
