Sandro Marcos, son of presidential aspirant Ferdinand Marcos Jr., campaigned for his father alongside House Majority Leader and Leyte Representative Martin Romualdez in Valencia City, Bukidnon on Sunday morning.
He represented his father in the campaign rally and expressed gratitude for the warm welcome extended by the supporters of the “BBM-Sara UniTeam.”
The older Marcos, who is also known as “BBM,” is running for president in 2022 with Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio as his running mate.
“We see in all the unity rides and in everything that happened across the country that all Filipinos have become united to fix the problems of our country and to solve this pandemic,” Sandro said.
“Because the Solid North for my father and Solid South to Mayor Inday Sara have been united. The whole Philippines is now wholly solid. This message of unity started with the partnership, not just a tandem but a partnership between Tiger of the North and Eagle of Davao,” he added.
Sandro further sought support for the BBM-Sara tandem.
“So now until the election, BBM-Sara UniTeam expects your support and your help, and when the right day comes, BBM-Sara will help all of you,” he said in Filipino.
“This is a tough fight, this is a difficult path that we’re going to but, honestly, as long as we’re united, what we thought as a hard battle would become lighter,” he added.
For his part, Romualdez thanked the supporters for the “overwhelming support” given to the tandem during the rally even if Marcos and Duterte-Carpio failed to attend it.
“The overwhelming support of the people here is gratifying. We are blessed to have this very huge crowd. Thank you for the support,” Romualdez said.
