BAGUIO CITY–The Baguio City government is not taking any chances amid the detection in 38 countries of Omicron, a new Covid variant.
Mayor Benjamin Magalong has warned that this development might ruin the holiday season.
An action plan is needed, he said, as the city gets its Prevent-Detect-Isolate-Treat-Reintegrate (PDITR) strategies are in place.
Baguio City Health Officer Dr. Rowena Galpo said the action plan will again involve vigilant and proactive regulations over borders and city activities, active surveillance of cases, reinforcement of minimum public health standards and aggressive vaccination.
Acting City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office head Antonette Anaban added the action plan will focus on the following areas: suppression, reduction of exposure, protection of the vulnerable and reduction of morbidity.
