Four men have been arrested over the shooting incident that left a prominent doctor dead in Cagayan de Oro City, police reported.

Arrested were Joel Nacua, 37; Jomar Adlao, 30; Marjun Cabug, 39; Felipe Entira, 63, all residents of Bukidnon, according to a report from the Northern Mindanao regional police.

They are being held for the killing of Dr. Raul Andutan, the report said.

Andutan, medical director of the Xavier University-Maria Reyna Hospital, died when motorcycle-riding gunmen opened fire on the sports utility vehicle he was riding in Brgy. Nazareth on Thursday morning.

He was brought to the same hospital he was working in, but was declared dead.

Brig. Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr., Northern Mindanao police director, said the suspects were identified through testimony by witnesses and CCTV footages.

Nacua, Adlao, and Cabug, were arrested in Brgy. San Alonzo of Balingoan, Misamis Oriental, around 3 a.m. Friday.

Entira was arrested at a bus terminal in Villanueva, also in Misamis Oriental, around 11:30 a.m., while another suspect remains at large, Acorda said.

Police confiscated two loaded caliber-.45 pistols and a hand grenade from the suspects.

A case of murder and illegal possession of firearms and explosives will be filed against the suspects, Acorda said.
