Senator Christopher “Bong” Go’s website was hacked and defaced on Tuesday –hours after he announced his withdrawal from the presidential race.
Pinoy Grayhats, a Filipino cybersecurity group, stole access to kuyabonggo.ph but vowed it will not leak any data from the website.
The hacker organization, however, used the website to call for the implementation of vulnerability disclosure programs (VDP) for government assets in the country.
According to IT security company Bugcrowd, VDP aims to “create clear guidelines for researchers to submit security vulnerabilities to organizations while also helping organizations mitigate risk by supporting and enabling the disclosure and remediation of vulnerabilities before they are exploited.”
The senator’s site is still up as of 1 December but can no longer be accessed.
