Daily Tribune writer Julio P. Yap Jr., posted his fourth consecutive win in this year’s Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Agriculture, for Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development (DoST-PCAARRD) Ulat SIPAG Awards (Print Category).

Yap bested other competitors for having passionately contributed in the dissemination of technologies under the Council’s Industry Strategic Science and Technology Programs through the print media.

His expertise in responsibly communicating topics on the agriculture, aquatic, and natural resources sector through feature articles equipped with visuals significantly benefits the country’s farmers, fisherfolk, and the general public, according to the DoST-PCAARRD.

As a writer, Yap’s benevolent disposition enabled the Council to regularly reach its stakeholders and beneficiaries in the most convenient means despite its limited resources, the DoST-PCAARRD added.

Yap’s writing prowess coupled with hard work to promote DoST-PCAARRD’s technology concerns, proves to be persistent and truly deserving of this recognition, which includes a plaque of appreciation and a cash prize, the Council stressed.

Yap’s winning streak brings him closer to be included in the DoST-PCAARRD’s coveted “Hall of Fame” award which just needs one more championship in the said competition.
