Former Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Guillermo Eleazar said that there’s no hard feelings between him and Malacañang when he chose to run for senator under the party of Senator and now presidential candidate Panfilo Lacson.
Eleazar said in Daily Tribune’s morning show Gising Na! that while he was appointed PNP chief by President Rodrigo Duterte, he is one with all who want to serve the people, including Lacson, Senator Ronald “Bato” de la Rosa and the administration’s presidential bet, Senator Bong Go.
“I said goodbye to Senator Bong Go and (told him) that I will run,” Eleazar said, adding that the important thing is what the candidates can do to serve the people and not to which party they are running under in next year’s election.
Go is the standard-bearer of PDP Laban while Lacson heads the Reform Party.
“All of us political aspirants, from president down to [those aspiring for] the lowest government posts, seek the best for our country,” Eleazar said.
He promised to “deliver” what he has promised during the election campaign — “that he will stand for what is right.”
