Hometown Cha Cha Cha star Kim Seon-ho is one of the most popular Korean heartthrobs of this generation after winning two popularity awards on the recently concluded voting for 2021 Asia Artist Awards.
Seon-ho will be taking home U + IDOLLIVE Popularity Award and AAA RET Popularity Award after garnering 542,972 and 1,787,000 votes at each awards. These awards are selected by the fans only.
Asian Artist Awards is a fan-led voting process which determines its winners. The awarding ceremony will take place on 2 December.
Before this, the Start-Up actor also won other popularity awards since the start of the year. He brought home the TikTok Popularity Award in 57th Baeksang Arts Awards.
It can be remembered that just days after finishing the drama Hometown Cha Cha Cha, which he led with Shin Min-a, Seon-ho was dragged into a controversy.
Due to that unfortunate incident, he lost some of his advertisements and upcoming shows.
Seon-ho was supposed to star in films Sad Tropics and 2 O’clock Date with Yoona but was replaced after the issue broke out. He also left the reality show 2 Days & 1 Night.
Despite getting caught in an issue with his former girlfriend, the Korean star remains loved and adored by fans, hence the massive vote he got for the awards.
