A personal experience inspired Kapuso actor Alden Richards to set up a foundation that sends children to school.

“In all honesty, I somehow believe that poverty is a hindrance to education. I’ve been there. I’ve experienced the feeling of wanting to study but you can’t because you don’t have any means to do so. I experienced that when I was young,” Alden said in a virtual media conference.

AR Foundation was registered in September this year and currently has 14 scholars. Two already graduated from college with degrees in Information Technology and Electrical Engineering.

“I don’t want that to happen to these kids. I want to break that cycle with this cause that I’m doing. I want them to be recognized by a lot of people. I pushed for this because I want people to see that the foundation is there, especially to the kids who are struggling with education,” he added.

AR Foundation is the benefactory of his upcoming documentary concert, Forward: Meet Richard Faulkerson Jr.
