MRT-3 charging stone-thrower

A scavenger who threw a stone at a Metro Rail Transit (MRT) 3 train Sunday morning was arrested in a construction site near a hotel along Taft Avenue in Pasay City.

The stone-throwing incident at the MRT-3 Taft Avenue Station caused severe damage to a train window and injured a 51-year-old male passenger.

The management of MRT-3 condemned the incident which is being investigated by the police. The injured passenger was brought to the San Juan de Dios Hospital for medical attention.

MRT-3 officials said in a statement that appropriate legal charges will be filed against the suspect and that necessary steps will be taken to prevent a repeat of similar incidents.
