Molnupiravir, an oral pill for the treatment of mild to moderate cases of Covid-19, is now available for patients who may be prescribed to take the medication under the Bayanihan E-Konsulta Program of the Office of the Vice President (OVP), Vice President Leni Robredo posted on Facebook on Monday night, 22 November.

The availability of the medicine was made possible by a Memorandum of Agreement with the QualiMed Health Network.

“In the agreement, the OVP will issue a guarantee letter under its special medical assistance program to any qualified patient referred by volunteer doctors at Bayanihan E-Konsulta. QualiMed facilties will then further assess and prescribe the medicine to the patient,” Robredo said.

“The first shipment of Molnupiravir arrived in the Philippines on 17 November, the first in Southeast Asia,” she added.
