South Korean professional Esports team T1 will bring back its full DOTA 2 roster ahead of the 2022 DOTA Pro Circuit Season.
Led by Filipino DOTA 2 star and team captain Carlo “Kuku” Palad, T1 has also retained the services of Filipino mid laner Karl “Karl” Baldovino, Nuengnara “23Savage” Teeramahanon, Kenny “Xepher” Deo, Matthew “Whitemon” Filemona and coach Park “March” Tae-won.
“March will lead our DOTA 2 squad once again as the team re-signs with T1. Thank you for supporting us and all the best for next season,” T1 said in its official announcement.
Although just a newly established DOTA 2 squad, T1 made quite a splash in the competitive DOTA 2 scene.
It scored a first-place finish in the PGL DPC 2021: Southeast Asia Upper Division and defeated Virtus.pro in the finals of ESL One Summer 2021 last June to bring home the championship prize of $175,000.
T1 was also one of the two Southeast Asian representatives in the recently concluded The International 10, which took place at the Arena Nationala in Bucharest, Romania.
Touted as the grandest stage of all Esports, TI 10 brandished a record-breaking prize pool of $40 million. T1 scored a top 7 to 8 finish by defeating former Alliance before falling short against Vici Gaming in the playoffs to pocket $1,000,500 in cash prize.
