Bren hints at revamp

Former world champion Bren Esports may be headed for a revamp following a fruitless performance in the Season 8 of the Mobile Legends Professional League Philippines (MPL) last month.

Bren Esports newcomer Dwine “Rimuru” Enriquez hinted at the looming overhaul, saying that dismantling the core of Angelo Kyle “Pheww” Arcangel, CJ “Ribo” Ribo, Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno, David Charles “FlapTzy” Canon and Allan “Lusty.” Castomayor is the only way to move forward.

Once feared for its seemingly unstoppable plays, relentless aggression and highly coordinated teamwork, Bren Esports suffered a massive fall from grace in Seasons 7 and 8.

They bombed out following a 3-2 loss to Execration in the lower bracket quarterfinals of Season 7 before failing to qualify in the playoffs of Season 8.

In the end, Bren Esports finished seventh out of eight teams with a dismal standing of 5-9 win-loss card as lack of discipline, poor work ethics and overconfidence took their toll.

Rimuru said maybe it’s about time for them to have a fresh start.“Our team lacked communication and chemistry,” Rimuru said.

“It shows on stream that they were fighting. They were able to make it to the playoffs in Season 7 because they were talking to each other.
Now, they do not get along and call out each other’s errors.”

Rimuru admitted that some players are not seeing eye to eye.

“The team does not get along. There was lack of communication and passion. I think we need to re-roster because it is becoming toxic already. They no longer tell each other what the problem is and they keep those problems to themselves.”

Bren Esports tried to solve the chemistry issue by tapping the services of Gian Paulo “Pauloxpert” Munsayac to help coach Francis “Duckeyyy” Glindro midway into Season 8.

But when they were booted out of contention by Echo in the group stage of Season 8, KarlTzy revealed that he learned nothing and felt numb from all the losing.
