P23.4M weeds destroyed

BAGUIO CITY — Authorities from the Police Regional Office Cordillera and members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Cordillera burned P23.4-million worth of marijuana plants in Kalinga recently.

This, as anti-illegal drug operations conducted by the provincial police and the PDEA yielded fully grown marijuana plants and processed weeds in five sites in the mountainous parts of Barangay Loccong, Tinglayan, Kalinga.

They were able to find three marijuana plantation sites with 90,000 fully-grown marijauana and two other sites where they discovered 45,000 grams of dried marijuana leaves and stalks worth P23,400,000.

Investigation is ongoing to identify the possible cultivators.
