Director Patty Jenkins has confirmed that another Wonder Woman movie is in the works.
At the DC Fandome 2021 event held on 16 October, Jenkins announced that the team is very thrilled about “some exciting things coming up with Wonder Woman 3,” including the return of Lynda Carter as Asteria the Amazon warrior.
Carter played Wonder Woman in a 1976 live-action series adaptation. It aired for three seasons till 1979.
Gal Gadot will reprise her titular role in the “threequel.”
The sequel, Wonder Woman 1984, grossed $166.5 million in 2020, while its pre-pandemic first installment earned a whopping $822.3 million.
Wonder Woman 3’s plot and release date have yet to be revealed.
Jenkins is also gearing up to start production of Star Wars: Rogue Squadron, a new Star Wars movie from Lucasfilm after the franchise closed out its Skywalker saga.
