Two persons, including a Malaysian, were killed while more than P12 million worth of suspected shabu was seized in separate operations in Tawi-Tawi and Pasay City, police reported.
Suspects Nadzmil Ladja, a resident of Sitangkai, Tawi-Tawi; and Hari Man Bin Sabtula, a Malaysian from Sabah, were killed when they shot it out with operatives Saturday morning, according to a report from the PNP Drug Enforcement Group (DEG).
Members of the DEG, other police units, and military intelligence operatives carried out a buy-bust operation against the duo in Brgy. Pahut, Bongao, around 10 a.m.
Ladja and Hari Man were big time distributors of shabu and could have brought most of the contraband being distributed in Zamboanga, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi, according to the DEG.
Hari Man reportedly fetches their supply from Sabah, it said.
Operatives seized about 1.5 kilos or P10.2 million worth of suspected shabu, 5 grams of suspected marijuana, a cellphone, two caliber-.45 pistols, identification cards, and a motorized banca from the suspects.
On Friday night, members of the DEG arrested one Emmanuel Bartolome alias “Jonjon,” 42, and Eliza Aurelio alias “Dang,” 35, after catching the duo in possession of P2.04 million worth of suspected shabu in Pasay.
Operatives of the DEG’s Special Operations Unit-4A and city police carried out a buy-bust operation against the two along the service road of Roxas Blvd. around 11:30 p.m.
More or less 300 grams of suspected shabu, identification cards, and two cellphones were confiscated from the suspects.
